President, Ken Harris, called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

Opening prayer given by Chuck McCarthy

Treasurer, Ray Purdum, reported that the club has a balance of $6,595.43 in the bank.

Motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the July 18th club meeting.

Jeanie Harris proposed that the club adopt several needy families at Jane Phillips Elementary School and deliver Thanksgiving boxes this year. This would be done through “individual” contributions by club members. Jesse Matlock suggested that his contact at WalMart may be able to help. Jeanie and Jana Cobb will provide more details at the September meeting.

Ken introduced Jesse Matlock as our guest speaker. Jesse spoke on his latest “Project Slider”, a 1971 Cuda. His success with “Striker” led him and his sponsors to develop and build Slider. He just returned from California doing assembly work at Magnaflow and Magnum Force. He will be showing Slider at S.E.M.A. in Las Vegas in October/November. Great presentation Jesse!
